Gorse Close,
Farnham.

Swathes of planting linking the front door to the driveway, and a more formal courtyard area with a water feature, were among the most eye-catching elements of this south Farnham design. It built on an existing scheme in a garden positioned to the front of the property in a sunny site but with dry, sandy soil and significant level discrepancies. Planting was in a naturalistic style, with an abundance of grasses, and perennials such as agastache, knautia and alliums to ensure year-round interest. Versatile and evergreen euonymus shrubs helped shape the formal parterre (an ornamental garden with paths between the beds).
